It’s a new year—but that doesn’t mean you need to become a new person.
At LC, we don’t believe in the pressure-filled idea that January requires a complete overhaul. You don’t need to “fix” yourself. You don’t need to be forced into change.
What we do believe in is growth. And growth often comes from trying something new.
Whether it’s a fitness class you’ve always been curious about, a routine you’ve never explored, or a challenge that pushes you just slightly outside your comfort zone—small changes can lead to big improvements in how you feel, move, and live.
Growth isn’t about becoming someone else, its about challenging yourself in healthy, sustainable ways.
Here Are a Few New Activities We Recommend Trying This Year
1. Pilates
Pilates is an incredible workout for building core strength, stability, mobility, and body awareness. Whether it’s mat-based or using a reformer, Pilates is low-impact but highly effective. Many professional athletes use Pilates during the off-season because it improves performance, reduces injury risk, and builds balanced strength.
2. Join a Fitness Challenge
From step challenges to weekly class goals, fitness challenges are a fun and motivating way to stay consistent. They create accountability, add a social element, and are especially engaging when done with coworkers or friends. Simple challenges can make movement feel exciting again.
3. Train for an Event or Competition
Preparing for something like a local half marathon, HYROX, or Tough Mudder can give your training real purpose. These events are challenging, rewarding, and a great way to get in shape while doing something completely different from your usual routine.
You don’t need a “new year, new you” mindset to improve your health. You just need curiosity, consistency, and the willingness to try.
